Aaron Dean, President

Aaron Dean: A fourth year Mechanical Engineering major from Ontonagon, Michigan. This is Aaron's Second year serving as a REAC officer and he is in charge of coordinating and overseeing the numerous aspects of the club.  He is an active volunteer at Lake Linden and Torch Lake Railroad and would like to see the club grow its member base. He recognizes that the rail industry is growing and offers many great opportunities for students.

Alex Christmas, Vice President

Alex Christmas: A second year Civil Engineering Student from Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a lifelong interest in the railroading industry. This is his second year as a REAC officer, currently serving as Vice President, coordinating the Railroad Careers Night activities and helping out the President in many capacities. He really enjoys being a part of REAC and sees an exceptionally strong future ahead in the railroad industry.

Darian Reed, Secretary

Darian Reed: A second year Civil Engineering major with a minor in Rail Engineering and Municipal Engineering. Darian was selected to fill a student administrative assistant position with our Rail Transportation Program and has done an excellent job. He is also an active presenter with Operation Lifesaver. As a result, he has joined an ongoing FRA sponsored research project on railroad grade crossings. In the Spring of 2017, Darian was awarded the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) to work on his own research project over the summer. Darian has an extensive volunteering background, including work with the Monroe County Historical Museum and the Monroe County Relay for Life program where he ran the logistics team for several years. Darian also worked as an engineering intern at the Gerdau steel mill in Monroe, MI for two years.

Kyle Dick, Treasurer

Kyle Dick: A second year Computer Engineering student from Ravenna, Michigan. This is his first year as a REAC officer. Kyle is currently serving as the treasurer, he is responsible for managin the club's funding. With a passion for both computers and the railroad, he hopes to one day get a job in the rail industry maintaining the Positive Train Control (PTC) system and hopes that by participating in REAC, will help boost his chances.

Smruti Prasad Dash, Social Chair

Smruti Prasad Dash: A first year graduate student in Electrical engineering who is from the east coast of India. Smruti is having a great time at Michigan Tech. He has 3 years of work experience in the electrical field in a german company. Smruti is really fascinated by the complexity of electrical system used in railway engineering. He is currently working as social chair and his responsibility is to organize events like bowling, movie nights, field trips, and parties that fall outside the normal monthly routine of REAC. Smruti enjoys working with all REAC members and looking forward to working on more design projects improving the reliability of electrical systems in railway engineering sector.

Erick Flaten, Marketing Chair

Erick Flaten: A second year Mechanical Engineering student from Kewaunee, WI. Erick's interest in the rail interest stems from his childhood when his grandfather would take him to explore the Chicago & Northwestern rail yards in Mankato, MN. This interest has led him to seek a career within the rail industry and become involved with REAC. As the Marketing Chair, Erick is responsible for the creation and distribution of event posters, the booking of meeting locations and any other marketing that needs to be done.

Andrew Erickson, Webmaster

Andrew Erickson: A second year student in the Mechanical Engineering Department from Apple Valley, Minnesota. This is Andrew's first year as a REAC officer and is responsible for the upkeep of the club's web accounts. Andrew works in the IT department at Michigan Tech and is a member in several clubs on campus including, SAE Aero Design, Pistol Club, Scuba, and REAC. Andrew's main interest is in aviation but has an interest in furthering his knowledge of the rail industry. As the REAC webmaster, Andrew is responsible for updating and maintaining, REAC's blog, Facebook page and club calendar.
